Society Hostess, who has won three of four since arriving in the U.S., will try for her first victory at Keeneland in the $100,000 Buffalo Trace Franklin County today on the turf.

A 4-year-old Seeking The Gold filly owned by breeder Moyglare Stud Farm Ltd. and trained by Christophe Clement, Society Hostess enters the 5 1/2 -furlong race this afternoon at the Lexington, Ky., track off a win at Belmont Park.

The 17-10 favorite in the License Fee on Sept. 30, the dark bay filly prevailed by a neck over Lemon Drop Gal. This victory came after earlier victories in an optional claimer at Delaware Park and in the Elizabeth Bay at Belmont. Garrett Gomez will be aboard.

Drawn directly to Society Hostess’ outside is Gilded Gold. Owned by a partnership that includes Bobby Flay and Robert Masterson and trained by Alan Goldberg, the 5-year-old Gilded Time mare is one for one on the Keeneland turf course. She won the Giant’s Causeway at today’s distance April 22 as a 6-1 shot. Rafael Bejarano will ride Gilded Gold, who has won eight of 20.

Other contenders include Bright Gold, who has won seven of 16 on the grass, More Than Pretty, Mocha Queen and Our Love.

Shootist, Ferndale Sal, Cut Trail, Beautifier, Deep Powder and Hot Grip will provide the opposition.

One for the road: Cross Channel gets Lasix for her U.S. debut and can come out firing in the fifth race today at Keeneland.
