Man Surrenders After Hit-and-Run Accident

A 33-year-old Los Angeles man was in custody in connection with a hit-and-run accident that hospitalized two Fremont High School students.
Police said Mario Moreno called them at 10 p.m. Wednesday, the day of the accident, to surrender. He was booked on suspicion of felony hit-and-run, police said.
Neither of the victims, girls ages 16 and 15, sustained life-threatening injuries. They were struck while crossing Avalon Boulevard at 78th Street.
