A man who remained a fugitive after being convicted of sexually molesting three Costa Mesa girls in 1977 is likely to spend at least 28 years in prison, City News Service reported Friday.

George England, 62, was sentenced to one year to life in prison by Orange County Superior Court Judge Robert R. Fitzgerald, who ordered that terms on four counts be served consecutively.

Originally convicted of using a 10-year-old he had brought to the United States from Vietnam to lure three of her playmates to his Costa Mesa mobile home, where he molested them during sleepovers, England was arrested in 2005 while living on a boat off Miami under an assumed name.

He was returned to Orange County, where he has since been held without bail.
