Sorority House Searched After Man’s Body Found
Police searched a UC Berkeley sorority house Monday after a man was found dead there.
Authorities said they did not believe the unidentified victim, a man in his early 20s, was killed in the Alpha Omicron Pi house.
Sorority members told investigating officers that the man knocked on the door about 2:30 a.m. Monday.
They reported that he had a gunshot wound and collapsed inside, said Officer Ed Galvan, a spokesman for Berkeley police.
Neighbors said they heard no gunshots or sounds of a struggle in the area.
The sorority released a statement saying its members did not know the identity of the victim and denying reports that there was a party at the house Sunday night.
