Chad Says Chevron Will Pay Taxes, Can Stay

Chevron Corp. had agreed to pay taxes that Chad said the oil company owed to the central African state and would continue to operate in the country, a Chadian spokesman said.
A spokesman for San Ramon, Calif.-based Chevron declined to confirm the statement.
