O.C. hall a sign of leadership?

Share

San Jose and San Diego are now communities with huge technology-based economies not unlike Orange County’s [“Getting to Know the Neighbors,” by Sorina Diaconescu, Sept. 14]. I often wonder why they have not done, or even begun to start to do, what Orange County has done by developing a world-class performing arts center.

I wonder if the fact that Orange County has never had one big central city is part of what has made it easier.

Or maybe it’s simpler than that. Maybe it just gets down to leadership and vision. Maybe without Keith Clark and Henry Segerstrom, it never would have happened.
