Higher Bail Denied for Firefighter in Slaying
From Times Staff and Wire Reports
A county Superior Court commissioner Thursday rejected higher bail for a Los Angeles firefighter accused of killing a woman.
Commissioner James N. Bianco refused prosecutors’ request to raise Capt. David Jaime Del Toro’s bail from $1 million to $5 million, but ordered the firefighter to be tested for drugs and alcohol.
Del Toro is charged with killing Jennifer Teresa Flores, whose naked body was found Aug. 16 a mile from his Eagle Rock home.
