at No. 6 Michigan 27, Wisconsin 13: Mario Manningham’s second touchdown catch put the Wolverines (4-0, 1-0) ahead late in the third quarter, and Mike Hart scored later to clinch the conference victory over the Badgers (3-1, 0-1) at Ann Arbor, Mich. Wisconsin’s P.J. Hill, who entered averaging a Big Ten-best 138.3 yards rushing, was held to 54 yards in 20 carries against the nation’s top-ranked run defense. Chad Henne’s 38-yard pass to Manningham gave Michigan a 17-10 lead with 3:11 left in the third.

No. 14 Iowa 24, at Illinois 7: Drew Tate passed for 190 yards, and the Hawkeyes (4-0, 1-0) scored three touchdowns late in the second quarter to defeat the Illini (1-3, 0-1) in a conference game at Champaign, Ill. Tate completed 17 of 27 passes, and Iowa had 344 yards in offense. Tate’s 35-yard touchdown pass to Tony Moeaki gave Iowa a 21-0 lead with 1:47 left in the first half.

at Purdue 27, Minnesota 21: Curtis Painter passed for 243 yards and two touchdowns to help the Boilermakers (4-0, 1-0) edge the Golden Gophers (2-2, 0-1) in a conference game at West Lafayette, Ind. Purdue, which plays at Notre Dame next Saturday, has a seven-game winning streak.

Connecticut 14, at Indiana 7: Danny Lansanah returned an interception for a touchdown, and Lou Allen broke a tackle on his 35-yard touchdown run to help the Huskies (2-1) beat the Hoosiers (2-2) at Bloomington, Ind. Connecticut outrushed Indiana, 257-0.
