Update -- The season has come down to this for the Galaxy: Either it wins tonight or it will not make the playoffs for the first time in Major League Soccer’s 11-year history. “There’s not a whole lot to say,” Landon Donovan said Friday. “I mean, we’re at a point where we have no choice” but to win. The Galaxy has won only twice in its last seven games. “It’s kind of a weird state we’re in,” Donovan said. “We’ve had four or five pretty bad results in a row. We’re trying to be positive and we think we’re playing well, but it’s not happening. We can’t like drastically change anything. It’s not that we’re playing terribly, we’re just not getting results.” Chivas, meanwhile, can clinch a playoff spot with a victory and a tie or loss by Real Salt Lake at Kansas City. “They’re going to be flying,” Donovan said of Chivas. “They have a chance to get in the playoffs, so I expect they’re going to be fully ready. If we don’t match that, it’s going to be tough, just like it was Wednesday,” when the Galaxy lost the U.S. Open Cup final to the Chicago Fire, 3-1. As for the playoffs, Donovan said, “We have very little hope, but it’s not over yet. We have to play that way.”
