Three women hurt when car rolls down hillside
Three women were injured after their car slid off a narrow mountain road early Thursday and rolled 300 feet down a hillside, authorities said.
The two 19-year-old women and one 20-year old woman were taken to hospitals, said Officer Orrin Heitmann of the California Highway Patrol.
The women were eastbound on winding Piuma Road about 3:45 a.m. when the driver lost control of the car, Heitmann said. The Dodge Neon plunged down the hillside, rolling three or four times before landing on its side, he said.
The three were able to get out of the car and call 911 with a cellphone.
