Not long ago, the sight of any NBA superstars in Oklahoma City would have been a dream come true. My, how times have changed.

A victory by Carmelo Anthony, Allen Iverson and the Denver Nuggets sent fans home in disappointment Friday night, as the New Orleans Hornets lost their final game in their temporary home, 107-105.

Anthony scored 31 points, Iverson had 23 and the Nuggets overcame an 11-point deficit in the final six minutes to claim their eighth win in a row and clinch the No. 6 seeding in the Western Conference playoffs.

“We knew it was going to be a packed house tonight. They wanted to win, but we wanted to win just as bad,” said Anthony, who along with Iverson forms the NBA’s highest-scoring tandem.

Marcus Camby had four of his season-high nine blocks during the Nuggets’ 17-4 run to close the game, which he started with a dunk.

The Hornets had one last chance with 17 seconds left, but all three of their shots missed in a wild sequence. Chris Paul missed a driving layup along the right baseline, Devin Brown missed a putback after the ball went between his legs, and Bobby Jackson’s desperation three-pointer from the right wing was off target.

Golden State 125, Sacramento 108 -- Baron Davis scored 25 points at Sacramento on his 28th birthday, and the Warriors kept up the pace in their chase for a playoff berth. Golden State (39-40) is tied with the Clippers for eighth place in the Western Conference standings, but the Warriors are peaking with 13 wins in their last 18 games.

Toronto 87, Detroit 84 -- The win at Toronto moved the Raptors closer to clinching home-court advantage in the first round of the playoffs. Anthony Parker’s off-balance three-pointer banked off the glass and went in just before the shot clock expired, giving Toronto the lead for good with 1:44 left.

New Jersey 100, New York 86 -- Jason Kidd’s 87th career triple-double helped the Nets eliminate the Knicks from the Eastern Conference playoff race. Kidd had 13 points, 14 rebounds and 11 assists at East Rutherford, N.J., for his 12th triple-double this season.

Washington 98, Atlanta 85 -- The Wizards took control with a 14-0 run to end the first half at Atlanta, ending their longest losing streak in three years. The six-game skid had the playoff-bound Wizards (40-39) on the verge of falling below .500 for the first time since mid-December.

Milwaukee 104, Boston 102 -- The Bucks, who have only two wins in their last 13 games, scored the first seven points and never trailed at Boston. The Celtics lost their sixth in a row to clinch the worst record in the Eastern Conference.

Miami 100, Indiana 96 -- Dwyane Wade scored 14 of his 23 points in the fourth quarter, plus got a steal that set up James Posey’s go-ahead three-pointer with 1:29 left at Miami. The Heat rallied from a seven-point deficit over the final 4:02.

San Antonio 110, Minnesota 91 -- The Spurs received 74 points from their reserves at Minneapolis en route to winning for the 25th time in 28 games. They scored 100 points for the eighth time in 11 games.

Chicago 100, Charlotte 81 -- The win at Chicago was the Bulls’ ninth in 11 games and tightened their grip on the No. 2 seeding in the Eastern Conference playoffs.

Utah 104, Dallas 89 -- Carlos Boozer had 32 points and 15 rebounds at Dallas to help the Jazz end a five-game losing streak.
