A 23-year-old woman was killed when she was struck by a Blue Line train Saturday south of downtown Los Angeles, authorities said.
Firefighters inflated massive air bags to lift the train off the woman and allow investigators to recover her body, said D’Lisa Davies, an L.A. Fire Department spokeswoman. No one else was injured, Davies said.
The woman was identified as Maxmiliana Gomez of Los Angeles. Los Angeles police were investigating the incident, which occurred near South San Pedro Street and Washington Boulevard shortly before 12:30 p.m.
