LAS VEGAS

Aladdin Resort & Casino

What’s new: This 2,600-room Strip hotel on Tuesday will be renamed Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino and open a 1,565-seat showroom featuring the musical “Stomp Out Loud.” A $200-million-plus makeover has also added a crystal-bedecked lobby, lounges, a poker room and more. Room renovations are ongoing. The style is “hip retro,” a spokeswoman said.

PALM SPRINGS

Colony Palms Hotel

What’s new: This inn, which dates to the ‘30s, is to reopen April 26 after a $15-million overhaul. Formerly the Palms at Palm Springs spa hotel, it has been closed since 2004. The decor, by L.A. designer Martyn Lawrence-Bullard, is eclectic and nostalgic, with French tiles, Uzbekistani textiles and vintage photos. Also new: flat-panel TVs and wireless Web access in the 56 guestrooms, small spa, poolside restaurant.

HONOLULU

Sheraton Waikiki

What’s new: A $55-million renovation of this 31-story behemoth added custom-designed furnishings, a new bathroom design and new beds, 32-inch flat-panel TVs, high-speed Internet access and digital air- conditioning to nearly 1,500 standard rooms in March. Redesign of suites and corridors continues through November.

NEW YORK CITY

Hotel 373 Fifth Avenue

What’s new: Opened in February in a recycled office building, this boutique-style hotel is budget by N.Y. standards. It offers free wireless Internet access everywhere, plus free local calls and flat-panel TVs in its 70 rooms. No restaurant per se, but there’s a Starbucks off the lobby.
