Brenden Morrow scored 6:22 into overtime and Marty Turco made 21 saves to lead the Dallas Stars to a 1-0 victory over the Vancouver Canucks on Thursday night in Vancouver, Canada.

The Stars avoided being eliminated in five games for a third consecutive playoffs.

Roberto Luongo kept the Canucks alive early in overtime with a big glove stop on Mattias Norstrom’s shot from the slot 1:46 in and a shoulder save on Jeff Halpern from the same range two minutes later.

But Vancouver took a penalty for too many men on the ice after a bad shift change, and the Stars’ power play, which was two for 28 in the series, finally clicked.

Morrow cruised through the slot and deflected Sergei Zubov’s point shot off Luongo, then up and over the goaltender and into the net, ending the Stars’ streak of six consecutive playoff overtime losses. The Canucks have a 3-2 lead in the series, which resumes Saturday in Dallas.

Calgary 3, Detroit 2 -- Daymond Langkow scored twice, including the winner in the second period, and the Flames tied their series against the Red Wings at 2-2 with a victory at Calgary, Canada.

Game 5 of the best-of-seven series will be Saturday in Detroit, with Game 6 on Sunday in Calgary.

Craig Conroy also scored for Calgary and captain Jarome Iginla assisted on both of Langkow’s goals in front of a sellout crowd of 19,289.

Ottawa 3, Pittsburgh 0 -- Ray Emery made 20 saves for his first playoff shutout, leading the Senators to the series-clinching victory in Ottawa, Canada.

Ottawa, which won the series, 4-1, scored three times in the second period and held Pittsburgh’s Sidney Crosby without a point for a second consecutive game.
