* at Philadelphia 6, Washington 3: Wes Helms drove in the go-ahead run with a single in a three-run eighth inning to lead the Phillies to their fourth straight win. Tom Gordon worked the ninth for his fourth save in six chances.

* Atlanta 11, at Florida 6: Four Braves relievers combined to pitch six shutout innings at Miami and Atlanta scored all of its runs with two out. In 19 at-bats with two out, the Braves had 10 hits.

* at Pittsburgh 3, Houston 0: Paul Maholm gave up three singles and faced only two batters over the minimum in his first career complete game. The Pirates won their first home game after four losses.

* at New York 2, Colorado 1 (12 innings): Pinch-hitter Damion Easley hit a tying home run with two out in the 10th inning and Endy Chavez drove in the winning run with a bunt single in the 12th. Rockies closer Brian Fuentes retired the first two batters in the bottom half of the 10th and was one strike from his fifth save when Easley hit his home run.

* Milwaukee 4, at Chicago 1: Prince Fielder homered for the second straight game, helping drop the Cubs to 3-9 at Wrigley Field. Jeff Suppan (3-2) got the win, giving up eight hits and one walk in eight scoreless innings. Chicago was 0 for 10 with runners in scoring position.

* San Diego 10, at Arizona 5: The return of Randy Johnson didn’t create a box-office buzz at Chase Field in Phoenix. The game drew 19,508. The Suns-Lakers playoff game, played two blocks away at US Airways Center, drew 18,422.

* Cincinnati 10, at St Louis 3: Alex Gonzalez tied his career highs with two home runs and five runs batted in for the Reds. The Cardinals, who were 49-31 last season in their first year at new Busch Stadium, are 1-7 at home. St. Louis has been outscored 42-20 at home.

* San Francisco 5, at Dodgers 3: The Dodgers have lost two in a row for the first time since opening the season 0-2.
