Foes start petition to recall mayor

City officials have approved the wording of a petititon to remove Mayor Diane Harkey from office, they said Tuesday, prompting her opponents to announce that they are ready to begin collecting signatures.
Recall proponents, who have reportedly criticized the mayor’s behavior at council meetings, now have four months to gather nearly 4,600 signatures from eligible registered voters.
