Hawaii trails at halftime
Hours after Missouri and West Virginia blew their chances to play in the Bowl Championship Series title game, it appeared that Hawaii might fritter away its hopes of playing in a BCS game altogether.
The Warriors, who at No. 12 in the latest BCS standings are on the bubble for a major bowl game, fell behind Washington, 21-0, early and trailed the Huskies, 28-21, at halftime late Saturday in Honolulu.
Hawaii (11-0), the only undefeated major-college football team coming into Saturday’s game, more than likely needed a victory over Washington to assure itself a spot in a major bowl.
