Re “7 decisions on scarce species to be revised,” Nov. 28

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s finding that all of the decisions by Julie MacDonald, former deputy assistant Interior secretary, concerning endangered species were legal serves only to allow MacDonald to boast that she broke no laws. She is yet another shameful example of an unqualified, unethical, pro-business Bush administration appointee. The public deserves and should demand its officials to be held accountable to a higher threshold of performance than a lack of criminal conduct.
