Transit agency chief approved
The City Council on Tuesday unanimously approved Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa’s nominee to head the city’s Department of Transportation, which has been roiled by a number of leadership changes over the last two years.
Longtime city employee Rita Robinson, who has spent the last three years running the city’s Bureau of Sanitation, will replace Gloria Jeff, who was hired in 2006 and fired in September.
