Cal State Fullerton (4-1) at Central Michigan (2-5), 6:30 p.m. -- All-Big West forward Scott Cutley, who broke his ankle in the preseason, made his first start last week and had a team-high nine rebounds. Guard Josh Akognon is averaging 24.2 points and five three-point baskets a game.

Alaska Fairbanks (3-3) at UC Irvine (2-5), 7 p.m. -- The Anteaters have lost four straight and are struggling defensively: Opponents are shooting 49%. Darren Fells leads the team with 12 points a game. The Nanooks, led by Kevin Atkins, have lost two straight since defeating Oregon State on Nov. 17.

Pepperdine (4-6) at Pacific (6-2), 7:30 p.m. -- This is a rematch of Pacific’s 84-76 victory on Nov. 12. The Waves went on to win four of their next five games but have lost their last two and were held to a season-low 57 points Wednesday at UC Santa Barbara.

Cal State Northridge (6-1) at No. 17 Gonzaga (7-2), 8 p.m. -- The Matadors are off to their best start since 1988-89 but face a stiff challenge in the Bulldogs. Northridge is outrebounding opponents, 42-35. Gonzaga, coming off a loss to No. 8 Washington State, is 42-2 all time at McCarthey Athletic Center.

NONCONFERENCE

UCLA (4-3) at San Diego (4-4), 2 p.m. -- UCLA forward Lindsey Pluimer, who is averaging a team-high 15.4 points and 8.1 rebounds, was nominated for the Lowe’s Senior CLASS Award, which goes to the sport’s top senior student-athlete. San Diego senior point guard Amanda Rego was the WCC co-player of the year last season after averaging a nation-leading 7.7 assists. She currently averages 7.3 assists.

USC (4-2) at Nebraska (6-2), 6 p.m. -- Since a season-opening overtime loss, USC has won four of five. Among those who stepped up are Morghan Medlock, Aarika Hughes and Nadia Parker, who has averaged 13.3 points and seven rebounds over the last four games. Nebraska is aiming for its sixth straight victory at home.
