Property tax payment is due today

Today is the deadline in Ventura County to pay the first installment of property taxes to avoid a 10% penalty, plus a $30 fee.
If payments are mailed, the envelope must be postmarked Dec. 10. Office machine cancellation marks will not be accepted.
Payments also can be made online at www.ventura.org/taxcollector. Online transaction hours are from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The address of the county tax collector’s office is 800 S. Victoria Ave., Ventura, Calif. 93009-1290. The office is open weekdays from 8 a.m. to noon, and from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Counter transactions end at 4:45 p.m.
