Ridley-Thomas gets union backing
Most of the county’s public employee unions Wednesday threw their support behind state Sen. Mark Ridley-Thomas (D-Los Angeles) in the June 3 election to replace retiring Supervisor Yvonne B. Burke.
Burke has announced that she would not seek a fifth term in the 2nd District, which includes much of south L.A. County. Also seeking the seat is Los Angeles Councilman Bernard C. Parks, a former LAPD chief.
