Charges against minister dropped
Charges against a 6-foot-10 minister and his son for allegedly beating a man into unconsciousness in a dispute over a golf ball were dismissed Thursday at the request of prosecutors.
Michael Babin, 52, of Oceanside’s Genesis Ministries International and his son, Gabriel Babin, 24, had been charged with assault in a February dispute at the Oceanside Municipal Golf Course. The incident began when the Babins accused the man of stealing one of their golf balls from a water trap.
