* Detroit 4, at Minnesota 1: The Red Wings had 51 shots and held Marian Gaborik to two shots two nights after he scored five goals. Dominik Hasek made 18 saves for Detroit, which played without Henrik Zetterberg (back) and Tomas Holmstrom (knee).

* at Atlanta 3, Montreal 2 (SO): Slava Kozlov and Marian Hossa each scored in the shootout as the Thrashers won their third in a row.

* at N.Y. Islanders 3, Washington 2 (OT): Richard Park’s goal 3:43 into overtime gave the Islanders consecutive wins for the first time since Nov. 16-19.

* Chicago 4, at Ottawa 3 (OT): Patrick Sharp scored the tying goal early in the third period and set up Jonathan Toews’ goal 2:08 into overtime for the Blackhawks.
