Pepperdine is beaten, 89-87

Devon Austin scored 22 points and grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds to lead Manhattan to an 89-87 victory over Pepperdine on Tuesday night at Malibu.

The Waves (4-12) had a chance to win at the end, but senior guard Chase Griffin’s three-point shot came after the buzzer sounded. Griffin finished with a career-high 25 points.

Four players finished in double figures for the Jaspers (4-8).

Texas El Paso 95, UC Riverside 55 -- Dale Vanwright and Stefon Jackson scored 18 points each to help lead the Miners at El Paso.

The Miners (8-6) scored first and led throughout the game, taking a 46-28 lead into halftime.

Chris Johnson led the Highlanders (3-11) with a game-high 28 points, making six of nine three-pointers.
