McGrady isn’t enough
Dirk Nowitzki and Devean George each triggered rallies with consecutive three-point baskets, helping the Dallas Mavericks overcome 45 points by Tracy McGrady in a 109-96 victory over the Rockets on Tuesday night at Houston.
After Houston took a 65-52 lead midway through the third quarter, George answered with two three-pointers, sparking a 15-2 run that tied it. Minutes later, Nowitzki powered a 20-4 run.
Nowitzki had 30 points. Josh Howard added 28 points and George scored 14 with six assists.
Seattle 101, Cleveland 96 -- Chris Wilcox had 16 points and 12 rebounds and Nick Collison added 14 points and 12 rebounds in the SuperSonics’ victory at Seattle. LeBron James scored 30 for Cleveland.
New Orleans 84, Orlando 78 -- The Hornets held the Magic to one basket in overtime at Oklahoma City for their third victory in a row. Jannero Pargo had 25 points for the Hornets. Dwight Howard had 17 points and 15 rebounds for the Magic.
