A massive marijuana garden -- 61,000 plants worth nearly $200 million -- was discovered in a remote area along the border of Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties.

Three illegal immigrants were arrested and plants up to 8 feet tall were uprooted after discovery of the farm east of Twitchell Reservoir near California Highway 166, said Sgt. Erik Raney of the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department.

Deputies flying a routine patrol by helicopter noticed the marijuana farm Friday, and authorities from both counties moved in two days later for the bust, Raney said.
