Unexpected first job for mortician
From Times Wire Reports
Lori Davis didn’t expect that the first person she would embalm and bury as a funeral director would be her father.
Shortly after she took the job in Opa-locka, her father, Emory Hadley Jr., was fatally stabbed in his bed.
Davis said embalming him herself was important, though she sometimes had to stop and drive around listening to gospel music to calm down. A nephew of Hadley is charged with murder.
