* at Milwaukee 4, Florida 3: J.J. Hardy drove in the go-ahead run in the eighth inning for the Brewers, who had lost seven of nine and are 6-14 since starting 24-10. The Marlins’ six-game road winning streak ended.

* at New York 4, San Francisco 2: Orlando Hernandez’s scoreless-innings streak was stopped at a career-high 19, but he sent the Giants to their fifth loss in six games. The Mets won for the fifth time in six games.

* at Houston 10, Cincinnati 2: Lance Berkman ended a slump with a three-run homer, and Woody Williams had a season-high nine strikeouts to help the Astros end a 10-game losing streak.

* San Diego 4, at Pittsburgh 2: Cla Meredith (2-2) won the game with a scoreless 10th inning, and Trevor Hoffman pitched the 11th for his 16th save in 18 opportunities and the 498th of his career.

* St. Louis 7, at Colorado 2: Juan Encarnacion hit a two-out, three-run double in the sixth and Brad Thompson gave up two runs in 7 1/3 innings for the Cardinals. St. Louis Manager Tony La Russa gave Albert Pujols his first day off of the season because the star slugger was “wearing down.”

* at Washington 11, Dodgers 4: Ryan Zimmerman homered and drove in four runs and Dmitri Young had four hits for the Nationals.
