* Chicago 3, at Toronto 0: Javier Vazquez pitched eight innings for his first win since April 13, and the White Sox stopped a five-game losing streak. Vazquez won his first two outings, then went 0-3 over his next seven starts.

* Kansas City 4, at Tampa Bay 1: Former USC pitcher Brian Bannister yielded two hits in eight innings to help the Royals end a seven-game losing streak. Bannister won for the first time since the Royals obtained him in an off-season trade.
