Driver dies after car spins, is hit by another
A Lake Elsinore man speeding Wednesday on the Riverside Freeway died after his car hit the center divider and was struck by another vehicle. Luis Najera-Zamora, 24, was westbound at about 11:30 p.m. near the Coal Canyon Road exit when he swerved to the left for unknown reasons, said CHP Officer Denise Quesada.
A CHP report said his Honda bounced off the center divider and came to a stop in the middle of the freeway. An Xterra driven by a Riverside woman struck the Honda. Najera-Zamora was not wearing a seat belt and suffered major injuries.
The driver of the Nissan was not injured.
