* at Minnesota 2, Toronto 1 (12 innings): Pinch-hitter Jeff Cirillo’s bases-loaded bloop single in the 12th inning lifted the Twins. Cirillo ended an 0-for-8 skid with Minnesota’s seventh walk-off hit of the season.

* at Cleveland 8, Oakland 5: Kelly Shoppach’s pinch-hit three-run homer capped a five-run ninth-inning rally for the Indians. Shoppach hit a 1-and-0 pitch from Alan Embree (1-1) into the left-field bleachers for his fourth homer and lifted the Indians to their sixth win in nine games. Oakland has lost five in a row. The rally kept A’s ace Dan Haren from earning his 10th consecutive win.

* at Baltimore 3, New York 2: Corey Patterson capped a perfect night at the plate by scoring the winning run on Scott Proctor’s bases-loaded walk in the ninth inning. Patterson went three for three with a walk, scored two runs and drove in one. Johnny Damon homered for the Yankees, who have lost three in a row and six of seven.
