In third grade, a star filmmaker was born

It seems Quentin Tarantino [“L.A., Tarantino Style,” March 1] has forgotten his very first fright film, which he concocted in third grade at Imperial Elementary School in El Segundo. I remember it because he “previewed” it for my second-grade class and scared the pants off the kids.
Perhaps he would be interested to know that the teacher who offered this enrichment activity to his class is still alive and kicking in Palm Springs. Try the name Larry Simpson on Quentin. I believe the collaborators on that film were his best buddies, David Strom and Michael Gallo.
