For the greatest of the great, some games are easier to score 50 points in than others.
Take Friday, when Kobe Bryant got his fourth 50-point game in a row -- on the road, against the Hornets, the No. 10 defensive team, on the second night of back-to-back games, after playing 45 minutes in Memphis.
Tonight the Lakers are at home against Golden State, the No. 30 defensive team.
Like the Grizzlies, who saw Bryant go for 60, the Warriors are a high-scoring team that likes a fast pace.
Unlike the Grizzlies, the Warriors are a legitimate team, half a game behind the No. 8 Clippers, trying to make the playoffs for the first time since 1994.
Don Nelson, who coached the ’94 Warriors, has returned to take them back into contention. A showman in his own right, Nelson delights in the unconventional, so Bryant can expect anything.
