* at San Diego 3, Washington 0: Slumping rookie Kevin Kouzmanoff drove in a run with his first big league triple and Chris Young pitched eight strong innings for the Padres. It was another night when offense was hard to come by at Petco Park. Young and closer Trevor Hoffman combined on a three-hit shutout, and Shawn Hill and Micah Bowie held the Padres to four hits.

* Colorado 9, at San Francisco 7: Matt Holliday homered, hit a three-run double and scored two runs and Alberto Arias pitched 3 2/3 shutout innings to win his major league debut.

* Philadelphia 6, at Atlanta 4: Cole Hamels bounced back from a rough start to pitch into the eighth inning and the Phillies finally beat the Braves. Hamels pitched the Phillies to their first win over Atlanta in five meetings this season.

* Florida 5, at New York 2: Josh Willingham drove in a career-high five runs and the Marlins made three great defensive plays to stifle the Mets. Willingham tripled with the bases loaded in the first inning and hit a two-run homer off Aaron Heilman in the eighth.

* Cincinnati 11, at Houston 2: Bronson Arroyo got his first win of the season and Adam Dunn hit a three-run homer for the Reds. It was the Reds’ largest winning margin this season and Houston’s ninth loss in the last 10 games.

* at Milwaukee 12, St. Louis 2: Tony Graffanino hit a three-run homer to help the Brewers beat the slumping Cardinals.

* Chicago 6, at Pittsburgh 5 (7 innings, susp., rain): Alfonso Soriano hit his first homer for the Cubs in a game that will be finished today before the teams play their regularly scheduled game.

* at Dodgers 2, Arizona 1: Olmedo Saenz drove in the winning run with a pinch-hit single in the bottom of the ninth.
