Update -- At the halfway point of the regular season, the Avengers are third in the Western Division, trailing San Jose and Utah. L.A. has a favorable schedule, starting today against the struggling Gladiators. Las Vegas has lost seven consecutive games and in last week’s 69-34 defeat to Orlando, the Gladiators trailed, 41-0, at the half. The Avengers, coming off a 75-71 come-from-behind victory over Grand Rapids last week, are looking for their second two-game winning streak. The Avengers’ Sonny Cumbie is the No. 1 passer in the Arena League on third downs, completing 30 of 47 passes (64.5%) for 393 yards and 13 touchdowns with no interceptions. Kevin Ingram has caught at least two touchdown passes in every game this season.
