at Baltimore 11, Tampa Bay 6: Kevin Millar homered and drove in four runs and Corey Patterson had three hits and three runs batted in for the Orioles, who set a season high for runs.

* Boston 8, at Toronto 0: Tim Wakefield pitched seven sharp innings and the Red Sox sent the Blue Jays to their ninth straight loss. Mike Lowell homered for the third consecutive game for Boston, which has won seven of eight.

* Oakland 17, at Kansas City 3: Dan Johnson and Jack Cust each homered twice for the A’s. Danny Putnam hit his first major league home run and Eric Chavez also connected for Oakland. The A’s set season highs for homers, runs and hits (18).

* Chicago 3, at Minnesota 0: Jose Contreras pitched a five-hitter for his second career shutout and the White Sox won for the fourth time in five games. White Sox starters have lasted at least six innings in 16 consecutive starts -- the longest active streak in the major leagues.

* Texas 14, at New York 2: Brandon McCarthy limited the Yankees to one run in 5 1/3 innings and pinch-hitter Victor Diaz hit his first career grand slam. New York had won its first five games this year against last-place Texas and 18 of 20 since July 2005. Texas set season highs for runs and hits (16).

* at Detroit 7, Seattle 3: Magglio Ordonez and Brandon Inge homered against struggling Seattle starter Jeff Weaver and the Tigers won for the ninth time in 10 games.

* at Angels 8, Cleveland 0: The Angels won their AL-leading 14th home game and took two of three from the Indians.
