Driver dies after hitting planter on center divider

A 45-year-old woman died after her SUV hit a planter and rolled over, authorities said Wednesday.
Rhonda Leer of Fountain Valley was driving her Ford Explorer north on Alicia Parkway about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday when she swerved and hit a planter on the road’s center divider. Leer was taken to Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo, where she died about 11:30 p.m., authorities said.
The accident’s cause is under investigation.
