* New York 7, at Florida 2: Carlos Delgado hit two home runs and drove in five runs to help John Maine (6-2) win for the first time in four starts. The Mets moved a season-high 3 1/2 games ahead of Atlanta in the East Division. It was the 41st multi-homer game of Delgado’s career and the five RBIs matched his total from his previous 10 games.

* Philadelphia 6, at Atlanta 4: Chase Utley drove in three runs to help the Phillies (25-24) move above .500 for the first time this season. Braves Manager Bobby Cox was ejected for the second straight game and the fifth time this season, leaving him only one behind John McGraw’s record of 131.

* Pittsburgh 9, at Cincinnati 5: Xavier Nady hit a three-run homer to key the Pirates’ four-run first inning -- their best first inning of the season. They sent nine batters to the plate, forcing Bronson Arroyo to throw 33 pitches. Jason Bay doubled home a run, and Nady followed with his second homer in two days.

* at St. Louis 8, Washington 6: The game was delayed by rain for 1 hour 41 minutes with two out in the ninth. When the game resumed, Jason Isringhausen got Jesus Flores to foul out for his 13th save in 14 chances.

* Colorado 6, at San Francisco 1: Aaron Cook (4-1) pitched a five-hitter to win his fourth consecutive decision. Matt Holliday hit a two-run single, an RBI groundout and a double. Eleven of Holliday’s last 20 hits have been for extra bases -- seven of those doubles.

* at Arizona 5, Houston 4: Brandon Webb allowed two runs in seven innings and the Diamondbacks handed the Astros their seventh loss in a row. Webb scattered seven hits, struck out eight and walked one. Only two outs against the sinker-ball specialist were fly balls.

* at San Diego 6, Milwaukee 3: Mike Cameron hit a two-run homer and Jose Cruz Jr. had a solo shot to help Justin Germano beat the Brewers. Germano (3-0), who yielded two solo homers, saw his ERA increase from 0.47 to 1.08.

* Chicago 4, at Dodgers 2: The Cubs improved to 9-20 when scoring six runs or fewer this season.
