Driver of 2nd car sought in street race injury crash

Police were looking Thursday for the driver of a black car that was street racing with a silver BMW when the BMW crashed, leaving its 17-year-old male driver in critical condition.

Both vehicles were traveling at high speeds Wednesday on Brookhurst Street near Garden Grove Boulevard when the BMW changed lanes and slammed into the back of a small-box truck stopped at a red light, police said. The unidentified driver of the BMW, who is from Garden Grove, was in critical condition at UCI Medical Center in Orange. His passenger, a 16-year-old boy also from Garden Grove, suffered a concussion.
