Seriously, are we in high school? Kobe Bryant said this. Phil Jackson said that. Jerry Buss said this and that. Who cares? I love the Lakers and I used to be a Kobe Bryant fan, but he is not above the Los Angeles Lakers. Please trade him, so we can move on with our lives. We will get another superstar. This is Los Angeles.

Whether you love Kobe or hate Kobe, he is flat-out the best and most exciting player in the NBA. You feel he’s not grateful to be here? Get over it. When he’s gone you won’t know this team or want to. It will be 10 years before they sniff a championship. What in the world is everybody thinking?

The opening-night loss to Houston was a stark reminder of what the post-Shaq era has been for the Lakers: brief stretches of team play and inspired defense surrounded by long interludes of Kobe playing one-on-five while the rest of the Lakers stand around and watch.
Thank you Kobe, for the years of brilliance and the three championships. Now it’s time to move on so that Lakers can be a team again, instead of props in the Kobe Bryant Show.

I believe that fining Jerry Buss $25,000 and not allowing him to attend the first two home games of the season for his DUI was outrageous. With the team that Buss and Cupcake have put together, David Stern should have forced him to attend.
