San Bernardino County sheriff’s investigators identified two apparent homicide victims Sunday who were discovered the day before, and said that an SUV spotted pulling away from the crime scene had been found abandoned in Glendale.

The partially burned bodies of David Avina, 30, of Monterey Park and Mario Castillo, 28, of Los Angeles were found by a U.S. Forest Service fire patrol Saturday after dousing a small blaze near the interchange of interstates 15 and 215 in the Devore area. Investigators have not determined the cause of death but are treating the incident as a homicide and possible arson.

Authorities said a 2003 GMC Yukon spotted by the patrol at the fire was found Sunday near the Holly Drive offramp of California 2 in Glendale. It belonged to Avina. Investigators said they had no suspects.
