* Dallas 120, at Golden State 115: Dirk Nowitzki scored eight of his 22 points in the fourth quarter and Jerry Stackhouse made a three-point shot with 37 seconds left for the Mavericks, who beat the Warriors in the first meeting between the teams since Golden State’s shocking first-round upset in the playoffs last season. Baron Davis scored 37 points for the Warriors.

* at Chicago 97, Detroit 93: Tyrus Thomas had 19 points and 14 rebounds and the Bulls got their first victory after four losses. Rasheed Wallace had 36 points for the Pistons.

* at New Jersey 87, Washington 85: Richard Jefferson scored 25 points, including the winning free throws with 24 seconds to play, and the Nets won after trailing by 20 points in the first half. Antawn Jamison had 24 points for the Wizards (0-4).
