* Phoenix 106, at Miami 101: Steve Nash scored 11 consecutive points late in the fourth quarter to lead the Suns. Amare Stoudemire, who sat out the last three games because of a sore knee, started for the Suns and scored nine points before being ejected early in the third quarter. Shaquille O’Neal had season-highs of 25 points and 10 rebounds for Miami, which led by as many as 12 points before falling to 0-5. Dwyane Wade is nearing a return to the Heat lineup, although neither he nor the team are saying if a comeback game has been targeted yet. Wade -- who is still recovering from off-season knee surgery -- was inactive for the fifth consecutive game.

* at Houston 104, Milwaukee 88: Yao Ming and Yi Jianlian each had their share of highlights in the much-anticipated first matchup of China’s greatest player and its top rising star, and Yao’s Rockets beat Yi’s Bucks. Yao had 28 points, 10 rebounds and three assists. Yi had 19 points and nine rebounds. The game was an enormous event in China, where it started early this morning. It was being broadcast on 19 networks and NBA officials were expecting the largest-ever viewing audience for a game, well over 200 million.

* at Charlotte 96, Indiana 87: Emeka Okafor had 25 points and 23 rebounds to lead the Bobcats. It was his second 20-20 game. He had 22 points and 25 rebounds in a triple-overtime win over the Lakers last season. Okafor’s strong performance helped the Bobcats erase memories of losing their previous two games by 31 and 32 points. It was his best game since he turned down a contract offer from the Bobcats before the start of the season.
