SHE QUIT HER DAY JOB
Tammy Dunkley spent the last few years traveling the world as a logistics coordinator for the studios, making sure their films arrived safe and sound at Sundance, Cannes and other glamorous places. But she gave it all up for fashion. And now her first store, Patricia Junes, is dedicated to showcasing emerging design talent such as Kara Janx, the “Project Runway” finalist known for kimono dresses and convertible wrap tops/skirts in mod color combos, and Minneapolis-based Kimberly Jurek, whose bell-sleeve coats and butterfly sleeve dresses are immensely wearable.
The 1,500-square-foot store, named after Dunkley’s mother and decorated with black-and-white damask wallpaper and lipstick-red shelves, also features old standbys such as Rich & Skinny Jeans, as well as eco-friendly lingerie by Perfectly Imperfect and T-shirts by Brook There. 6910 Melrose Ave., Los Angeles, (323) 939-5050. 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.
