NO. 22 KENTUCKY (7-3) AT NO. 8 GEORGIA (8-2)

Share

* Kickoff: Saturday 9:30 a.m. PST.

* TV: Game Plan.

* Line: Georgia by 7 1/2 .

* Kentucky update: The Wildcats have dropped out of the Southeastern Conference title race, losing two of three since defeating top-ranked Louisiana State. They regained momentum last week with a victory over Vanderbilt and still have quarterback Andre Woodson guiding an offense that’s scoring 37.7 points a game. Woodson is third in the nation with 29 touchdown passes and leads the SEC with 265.3 yards passing a game. The Wildcats haven’t won at Georgia since 1977.

* Georgia update: The Bulldogs may be the hottest team in the nation right now, having won four consecutive games, including convincing victories over Florida and Auburn. Running back Knowshon Moreno is a key reason. He is averaging 163 yards rushing in those games and the Bulldogs are averaging 37.4 points. Georgia has shown vulnerability on defense, however, giving up 28 points and nearly 250 yards passing a game over the last three.

* Story line: Georgia needs a win to keep alive its hopes of playing in the SEC title game. Kentucky will have a significant impact on the SEC East race because the Wildcats play division co-leaders Georgia and Tennessee in their last two games.

* The pick: Kentucky. The Wildcats have already knocked off two top-10 teams, so there’s no reason to count them out.
