The Bruin football program is really out of whack this year. They even have managed to ruin Notre Dame’s perfect season.

Whether it was Dan Guerrero’s or the UCLA chancellor’s hire, the big gamble on Karl Dorrell has failed. Just like in Vegas, the house will win most of the time. The odds were stacked against him from the get-go. He had never been a head coach (on any level), so who thought he could become one here with all the intense scrutiny and competition?

Let’s hope that Guerrero will have the reins taken off and he can go after the kind of coach he found for basketball and baseball.

The UCLA football team might be better off with DeWayne Walker as defensive coordinator, a new offensive coordinator and no head coach. Wait, that’s what we have now.
