Rental boats will return to parks

Boats for the lakes in MacArthur and Echo parks will be available for rental again starting Saturday.

The boats were discontinued after Labor Day because the Department of Recreation and Parks lacked money for the service, Councilmen Eric Garcetti and Ed Reyes said Thursday.

They said funds had been found to keep the boats available through June. Rentals will be available throughout the winter on weekends and holidays from noon to 4:30 p.m.
