* at No. 7 Boston College 55, Bowling Green 24: Matt Ryan threw four touchdown passes, and the Eagles (6-0) made four interceptions late in the first half to overwhelm the Falcons (3-2) and get off to their best start in 65 years. Boston College scored 38 consecutive points after Tyler Sheehan’s six-yard pass to Freddie Barnes with 8:55 left in the half cut the Eagles’ lead to 14-10. Less than seven minutes later, it was 38-10 as the Falcons’ pass-happy offense backfired when the Eagles picked off four passes in the last six minutes of the half.

* No. 15 Virginia Tech 41, at No. 22 Clemson 23: Victor Harris had a record-tying 100-yard kickoff return and Eddie Royal returned a punt 82 yards for another score to lead the Hokies (5-1, 2-0) over the Tigers (4-2, 2-2) at Clemson, S.C. D.J. Parker had a 32-yard interception return for a touchdown on Clemson’s first series, and the Hokies held Clemson without a first down for nearly 21 minutes.

* at North Carolina 33, Miami 27: Brandon Tate scored on a long end-around in a spurt of 27 points to start the game, and Connor Barth kicked four field goals to lead the Tar Heels (2-4, 1-2) over the Hurricanes (4-2, 1-1) at Chapel Hill, giving Coach Butch Davis a victory against his former program. Darnell Jenkins had a 97-yard touchdown catch, the second-longest play in school history, for Miami.

* at Maryland 28, Georgia Tech 26: In the first start of his career, Chris Turner threw for 255 yards, and Lance Ball ran for three touchdowns to lead the Terrapins (4-2, 1-1) over the Yellow Jackets (3-3, 1-3) at College Park. Travis Bell sent a 52-yard field-goal attempt wide right with 54 seconds left.

* Wake Forest 41, at Duke 36: Receiver Kenneth Moore rushed for two touchdowns, and the Demon Deacons (3-2, 2-1) withstood Thaddeus Lewis’ four-touchdown performance to beat the Blue Devils (1-5, 0-3) at Durham, N.C. Moore caught 11 passes for 100 yards and rushed four times for 84 yards, with scoring runs covering 21 and 53 yards.

* at Florida State 27, North Carolina State 10: Michael Ray Garvin’s 43-yard interception return for a touchdown broke a tie and sparked the Seminoles (4-1, 1-1) over the Wolfpack (1-5, 0-3) at Tallahassee. Xavier Lee, making his first start of the season, completed 16 of 28 passes for 257 yards.

* Virginia 23, at Middle Tennessee 21: Chris Gould kicked a 34-yard field goal with eight seconds left, redeeming himself after an earlier extra-point miss, and the Cavaliers (5-1) defeated the Blue Raiders (1-5) at Murfreesboro.
