* Ottawa 3, at New York Rangers 1: Dany Heatley scored the first of the Senators’ three goals in a team-record 52 seconds of the second period and Martin Gerber made 36 saves.

* at Buffalo 7, Washington 3: Brian Campbell had a goal and three assists and Jaroslav Spacek scored two power-play goals to help lift the Sabres.

* Carolina 3, at Montreal 1: Cory Stillman and Matt Cullen each scored power-play goals and Cam Ward made 23 saves for the Hurricanes, who have won three consecutive games in Canada.

* at Florida 6, Tampa Bay 4: Olli Jokinen had a goal and two assists to tie Scott Mellanby for the Panthers’ career scoring lead. Jokinen has 156 goals and 198 assists for 354 points with the team.

* at Philadelphia 3, New York Islanders 1: Jeff Carter and Sami Kapanen each scored goals, and Martin Biron made 29 saves for the Flyers.

* New Jersey 6, at Atlanta 5: Patrik Elias scored two goals, including one on a power-play with 27 seconds left, to help keep the Thrashers winless.

* Calgary 7, at Nashville 4: Kristian Huselius scored two goals and Jarome Iginla had a goal and an assist to help lift the Flames. The teams combined for six goals in the second period.

* at Vancouver 4, Edmonton 1: Henrik Sedin set up twin brother Daniel for two goals 2 minutes 18 seconds apart in the second period to break open the game.

* Minnesota 3, at Phoenix 2: Eric Belanger scored a short-handed goal late in the third period about three minutes after teammate Mikko Koivu had tied the score with 6:20 to play.

* Boston 2, at San Jose 1: Aaron Ward scored for the Bruins with 12 seconds left, just moments after the Sharks had tied the score.
